Our Process

Streamlined remodel process minimizes stress, avoids delays, and prevents unexpected expenses for seamless transformations.

We have a multi-step process to help guide you through the remodeling process. By using our process, we have been able to remove much of the stress that comes from last-minute change orders, not having the materials on time, and unexpected surprises on the final invoice.
Kitchen Bathroom Remodeling Planning

Planning

The first step in any project is one of the most important steps, and it all starts with you. You need to know what you want (or at least a good idea of what you want). What problems do you want to solve? Why do you want to remodel? What problems do you want to fix? What are your “must haves” and your “nice to haves”? What is your budget? This means research, such as looking in magazines and online for, ideas, inspiration, and cost.

Once you have a clear vision as to what you want, write it down and create a vision board. This vision should be clear to everyone involved in the decision-making process. Now that everyone is on board, you’re ready for the phone call.

Kitchen Bathroom Remodeling Phone Call

The Phone Call

The goal of the first phone call is to determine if we should work together. During this call, we ask basic questions to see if we are a good fit for you and your project. The object of this call is to be honest and open about how you are hoping we can help you. Are we the best contractor for you? What are looking to accomplish with your project? Why do you want to complete the project? Where are you in the planning stage?

During the call, we may ask you to text or email us the vision board, pictures, plans, designs, or any other information that will help us to determine if we can accomplish your goals to the highest quality possible. If you want to get a head start you can email them to us at Sales@CarolinaDreamKnB.com. At the end of the call, we will either be able to give you an estimated cost range.

If you think we are a good fit for you, the budget is good, and you’re ready to move forward we will schedule an in-home consultation.

Kitchen Bathroom Remodeling Consultation

The Consultation

Once we have talked on the phone to see if we are a good fit for you and we have given you a price range that works for you we can schedule the in-person consultation. At this time, you will be establishing a personal relationship with us, as well as starting to put together your project plan.

One of the most important things for the consultation is that everyone involved in making decisions for the project is present during the consultation. This is the best time for everyone to voice any of their thoughts, expectations, and concerns. Most of the time we can address and work through and iron out any needed changes or possible issues during this time.

The goal here is for us to understand what your expectations are and to communicate what you can expect from us throughout your project. We will go over (1) any details about your project we were not able to see in the pictures or vision board, (2) discuss any potential changes or areas of concern, (3) talk about the design in more detail, and (4) finalize the budget.

At the end of the consultation, our goal is to provide you with enough trust in us and our process that you are ready to move forward into the Design Phase. If you are not ready to move forward, we completely understand.

Kitchen Bathroom Remodeling Design

The Design Phase

Concepts and Layout:
You are one step closer to starting your project. We will begin working on two or three design layouts based on the measurements and what we discussed during the consultation. The purpose of developing multiple concepts is to provide different options to find the best layout and design to fit your needs and desires. We will adjust any areas of the layout to fit your needs and vision. The concepts phase shouldn’t take more than two meetings and revisions. Keep in mind, that the layout and 3D renderings are to provide you with a visual aid to help you envision what the final project may look like but are not an exact representation of the final project.

Selections:
In the meantime, comes the fun part, shopping! While we work on the layouts and putting together the basic design it is your job to pick out everything that will go into your project. But don’t worry, we will not leave you during the process. We will help guide you by scheduling meeting times to meet at our preferred vendors to pick out the selections and to bring samples home so you can view in your lighting and choose the right finishes. The goal is to have everything from the cabinets, countertops, plumbing and light fixtures, flooring, and paint colors.

Design and Construction Contract meeting
Once the layout and the selections are made, we will finalize the cost of your project and the construction plan. This will include the layout, 3D renderings, a full scope of work, the selections, and a payment schedule. We will go over the plan together iron out any final details and go over the construction contract and documents.

Kitchen Bathroom Remodeling Construction

Construction Phase

The Pre-Construction Phase:
Now it is our construction team's turn. We will start off with a kickoff meeting with your Project Manager. Before this meeting, the PM will review all documents, selections, and one last look at the space to make sure there are minimum hiccups during the construction. We will provide you with an approximate start date and a rough schedule of events that will take place so that you will know what to expect. We will also walk you through our client portal on our online platform so you can stay up to date with the project schedule, leave comments or questions, and see progress photos. Our goal is to keep you apart of the process as much as possible.

We will walk through the process, how we will prep your house to protect the areas that are not being remodeled, and what you need to do to get ready before we get started. This step is very important as it will speed up the process and help prevent possible issues in the demo and construction phase. This walk-through will occur approximately 1 to 2 weeks before we start the demo.

Now we go to work to turn your vision, ideas, designs, and selections into reality. Depending on the scope of work the project time may vary, but it is our goal and focus to complete your project on time and at the highest quality possible. No shortcuts!

You will have a Project Manager as your one source of contact to keep you informed and up to date on the progress of your project. You will also be able to log into your project in our online project management software to see the progress, photos, daily logs, and to communicate with us throughout your project. All with the goal of a smooth, timely, and stress-free project we can all be proud of.
